Privacy policy

Last updated November 3, 2026

This page explains what happens to your data when you use the Etlo app and this website.

Data you sync

Records from your connected tools are stored in an encrypted database on your Mac. We do not run servers that receive or store them, and you do not need an account to use the app.

Credentials

API keys and passwords for your sources are kept in an encrypted file on your Mac. Its key is held in the macOS keychain.

The AI agent

When you chat with the agent, your messages, table schemas and the results of queries it runs to check its work are sent to the model provider you chose, either Anthropic or OpenAI, using your own API key. Their privacy terms apply to that data. Scheduled syncs and dashboard refreshes do not contact a model provider.

Updates

The app checks our update server when it starts and every four hours. That request includes your app version and the standard details any web request carries, such as your IP address.
